Reduce no-shows with booking reminders that actually work

Every no-show is a paid slot that earns nothing — and for a solo operator or a small team, a few a week adds up fast. The good news: most no-shows are forgetfulness, not intent, and that's fixable.

Why customers don't show

  • They booked days ago and simply forgot
  • The time never made it into their own calendar
  • Plans changed and they didn't know how to tell you

Notice that none of these are "they didn't care." They're gaps in reminding and confirming — both of which you can automate.

Confirm the booking up front

When a customer actively confirms a time, they're far more likely to turn up — they've made a small commitment. Sending a booking invite with a one-tap Confirm link turns a booking from something you assumed into something they agreed to.

Time the reminder right

A reminder that lands the day before hits the sweet spot: close enough to matter, early enough for the customer to tell you if something's changed. Include:

  • The service, date and time
  • Where to go (or that you're coming to them)
  • A way to reach you if they need to reschedule

SMS beats email for reminders

For appointment reminders, a text is usually read within minutes, while email can sit unopened. For time-sensitive nudges, SMS is the workhorse — with email as the fallback when there's no mobile number.

Let the system do it

BookQuo sends booking confirmations and reminders over the customer's preferred channel, so the right nudge goes out at the right time without you lifting a finger — and the confirmation syncs straight back to your calendar.
